An instantly recognizable one word theme song, outrageous death traps, ingenious gadgets, an army of dastardly villains and femme fatales, and a pop-culture phenomenon unmatched for generations. James Bond, right? Wrong. 1966's Batman television series practically defined the comic book adaptation for the next three decades with its distinctive visual flair and parade of celebrity guests, even as it walked the line between loving adaptation and straight-up parody. POW!

Maserati A6G/2000 Chassis number 2017 is one of just three short-wheel base Frua Spiders built and as such is exceedingly rare, plus it comes with a well-documented and quite remarkable history. According to a thorough investigation by renowned Maserati historians Adolfo Orsi Jr., chassis 2017 was delivered to Carrozzeria Pietro Frua on July 24, 1950. Six months later it emerged with its new bespoke, hand-built Spider coachwork and it was returned to the Maserati factory to receive its final fit and finishes. Dressed in dark blue, the finished A6G/2000 was delivered to Maserati dealer Mimmo Dei of Rome on May 17, 1951 and immediately sold to its first caretaker, Luigi Trevisan, one of the many professionals working in the movie business.

    • TITANIUM MUFFLER: The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP’s muffler was developed jointly with Akrapovi?. It’s made out of titanium for light weight, and the design also contributes to the bike’s m* centralization. A special valve in the exhaust helps boost torque at lower revs and increase horsepower at higher rpm.
    • COMPACT OVERALL CHASSIS: The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP’s wheelbase is just 57.3 inches for super-responsive handling, while the swing arm measures 24.5 inches in length. The crankshaft centerline is 33mm farther from the front axle and 16mm higher for better front/rear balance with a rider onboard. Rake angle is 24 degrees, with 101.2mm of trail.
    • SHORTER ENGINE: The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP’s engine is shorter front to back than the previous design, making the bike more compact and allowing our designers more latitude in engine placement in the chassis.
